"Reflections of Honor"

Carter Lake's Veterans Memorial Wall is now open for viewing. 

Families of Veterans who have served in the military (whether living or deceased) can purchase a plaque in their honor. 

If you are a veteran or have someone in your family who served in the armed forces and wish to have them honored on this wall, please stop by City Hall and complete the necessary paperwork.

Pet Licenses

                Pet Licenses are due yearly and expire on December 31.  

                Fee is $10.00 with a $5.00 late fee beginning May 1st.  

                To purchase a license you will need the following: 

                            License fee – Cash or check (payable to City of Carter Lake) 

                            Copy of current rabies vaccination – must not expire for 6 months. 

                            Completed application.  Download the application here.

                Please bring to City Hall or if mailing please include self-addressed stamped envelope.


Intrusion Alarm Permits    


City of Carter Lake Ordinance #168 states that it shall be unlawful for any person or business to use or operate an alarm system without a valid permit. Please complete an application and return it to City Hall along with a $10.00 permit fee.  Each year after that you will be required to fill out a new application for a permit, but there will be no renewal fee.

Carter Lake Community Information Channel

Carter Lake's Community Information Channel is a Government Access Channel located on Cox Cable Channel 22 in Carter Lake, Iowa.

Channel 22 has a community bulletin board that provides information on local events.  Our community bulletin board is available at no cost for non-profit organizations.

The most reliable way to send us information is via email or fax.  No submissions will be taken via phone. 

We also air the City Council and Planning Board meetings as well as other community events.

DVD's of the City Council and Planning Board meetings are available for check out from the Carter Lake Public Library at 1120 Willow Drive.

You may purchase a DVD copy of City Council or Planning Board meetings at the City Hall.  The cost is $10.00 per DVD.  Please call 347-6320 to request a DVD copy.
