City of Carter Lake
Adopt-A-Street Program

The Adopt-A-Street program is a joint effort between the City of Carter Lake and residents to keep our roadways clean and beautiful. The program allows our residents, businesses, clubs and organizations to express their pride in the community.
Adopt-A-Street Program’s purpose is to reduce the trash and litter on city streets resulting in the beautification and appearance of our streets and neighborhoods.
Keeping city streets clean also keeps the lake clean. When it rains, trash and debris left on the side of the road can end up being swept into the storm sewer drains. Cleaner streets will eventually result in a cleaner lake.
Adopt-A-Street Program will seek volunteers, individuals and groups to volunteer to pick up trash and litter on certain stretches of city streets at least four times annually. Recognition for their time and energy spent beautifying the City of Carter Lake is provided with signs erected in the area they have adopted with the name of the group or individual.
