Citizens of Carter Lake, Iowa
At the time budget discussions concluded, there was a shortfall of approximately $72,000. I made a proposal to balance the budget, in house, by the council meeting in July. A majority of the council approved. Among other items, part of the proposal was to cut the budget for the Inside Carter Lake newsletter. I believed we could get the paper to the residents under a new format and save thousands of dollars. We had hoped to have the first issue ready by July 1st however, we will be unable to meet that goal.
I have assembled a committee of volunteers, with Council Member Barb Melonis as chair, to develop the new electronic format using the talents of the Resource Center employees and those of the library employees. Printed copies will be made available on an “as needed” basis at various locations around the city.
September 1st is the projected date for the debut of the Carter Lake E-News. The committee wants to produce a quality product that you, the citizens, will be anxious to see.
If you have any comments, questions or suggestions for content, please contact the Resource Center, Library or Barb Melons at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 402-547-3556.
In the meantime, please keep in touch by watching channel 22, visiting the City of Carter Lake website or Carter Lake Resource Center’s Facebook page. I thank you for your understanding and patience.
