NOTICE TO BIDDERS
To All Interested Parties:
The City of Carter Lake is accepting bid to repair damages that were caused by the June 3, 2014 hail storm. The following city owned buildings sustained damages: City Hall – 950 Locust St., Neptune Park – Neptune Circle, Wavecrest Park – 5th and Ave. Q, Hamilton Sports Complex – 17th and Ave. P, Mabrey Park – 17th and Willow, Animal Control Shelter – 2919 N. 9th St., Senior Center – 626 Locust
Additionally, the City of Carter Lake is also accepting bids to roof the newly constructed shelter at Wavecrest Park at 5th and Ave. Q.
Bids will be accepted through Friday, August 29, 2014 at 3:00 PM. When submitting a bid, please also include a proposed start and completion date for each job listed.
If you are interested in bidding on any or all of these roofs, detailed information on the work to be completed may be obtained at City Hall, 950 Locust St., Carter Lake, Iowa. 712-347-6320.
NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURES
Due to road construction related to the PVS expansion project, the intersection of Avenue H and 9th Street will be closed for approximately 2 weeks beginning August 25, 2014.
Message signs have been set up on Abbott Dr to remind citizens that Avenue H will be closed at 9th Street and all traffic will have to detour to Locust Street.
PAXTON VIERLING STEELE
Carter Lake is very fortunate to have had Paxton Vierling Steele commit to expanding their business in Carter Lake. If you drive down Ave. H between 5th and 9th Streets you will see the construction under way. As part of the project, the State of Iowa and PVS have agreed to provide infrastructure improvements on 5th St., Ave. J, and 9th St. The infrastructure improvements will include streets, sidewalks, water, sewer, and storm water.
The City has entered into a contract with Roloff Construction to do the infrastructure improvements. Work should begin on July 1, 2014. Roloff is proposing to close Phase 1 which would include both 9th Street and J Street from July 1st to September 22nd. Phase 2 would close 5th Street from September 23rd to November 24th. Final construction will be completed by December 1st. After construction is complete, the City will permanently close Ave. H from 5th St. to 9th St.
